For weeks now it has been documented that AC Milan are proceeding with their plans to register an U23 team in Serie C for next season, and a development has arrived today.

Juventus and Atalanta have decided to already take the first initiative by registering their respective U23 squads to compete in Serie C. In 2018, Juve formed a Next Gen side to play against stronger and older opposition as Atalanta followed their lead in August to enter the third division.

Already known for producing one of the best youth academies in world football, Atalanta have flexed their muscle so far this season with the Under-23’s to go above and beyond expectations too.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), Milan are still working on the U23 team and in a few weeks it will be known whether or not the Rossoneri team will participate in Serie C next season.

Where will they play their home games if they do register? There has been a lot of talk in recent weeks about the Breda stadium in Sesto San Giovanni, which however is bound by an agreement with Inter (whose women’s team players there) which will also extend to next season.

So, Milan U23 will play their home league matches at home at the Solbiate Arno stadium, a few hundred meters from Milanello, where they will also train.
