Chelsea have confirmed the signing of Serbian goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic from MLS side New England Revolution. Speaking on his move to Stamford Bridge, the 23-year-old said: “‘I’m so happy to be at Chelsea and I’m really excited to get started at this club. The Premier League heavyweights have confirmed that Petrovic has signed a seven-year contract with them, which also has the option to extend into an eighth year. The London giants are claimed to be paying New England Revolution a £14 million fee for the goalkeeper, a record sale for the MLS side.

Petrovic, who has been hailed as “Incredible” in the past for his performances in the USA, is poised to be the backup to Robert Sanchez at Chelsea, with the Spaniard the established no.1 under Mauricio Pochettino this season after being signed from Brighton & Hove Albion earlier this summer window.
