Chelsea have announced their latest summer signing, and it appears they have identified the replacement for Kepa Arrizabalaga, who left for Real Madrid earlier in this window.

Chelsea Announce Djordje Petrovic Transfer

Details of Petrovic Move To Chelsea

Chelsea have confirmed the signing of Serbian goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic from MLS side New England Revolution. Speaking on his move to Stamford Bridge, the 23-year-old said: “‘I’m so happy to be at Chelsea and I’m really excited to get started at this club. It’s a big step for me and it’s always been a dream of mine to sign for one of the biggest clubs in the world. Today I have achieved that goal and I’m so happy. Playing in the Premier League is something I’m really looking forward to doing and I hope to learn many things here at Chelsea. I can’t wait to meet everyone and play at Stamford Bridge.”

The Premier League heavyweights have confirmed that Petrovic has signed a seven-year contract with them, which also has the option to extend into an eighth year. The London giants are claimed to be paying New England Revolution a £14 million fee for the goalkeeper, a record sale for the MLS side.

Petrovic, who has been hailed as “Incredible” in the past for his performances in the USA, is poised to be the backup to Robert Sanchez at Chelsea, with the Spaniard the established no.1 under Mauricio Pochettino this season after being signed from Brighton & Hove Albion earlier this summer window.

Are Chelsea Working On Anything Else?

Despite the Serbian’s arrival, it might not mark the end of their transfer activity. According to Fabrizio Romano , Chelsea are trying to resolve the future of Romelu Lukaku and negotiating a deal with AS Roma to send him on loan to the Italian club.

They are also reported  to be weighing up a move for a new attacking player, with their targets being Nottingham Forest attacker Brennan Johnson and Ajax’s Mohammed Kudus.
