Texas Rangers Get Huge Break With Regards to Adolis Garcia Injury
USA TODAY Sports

The Texas Rangers beat the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday, 5-1, to sweep aside one of the best teams in baseball.

With the win, the Rangers are now 58-39 and only one game worse than Tampa Bay in the American League standings. Furthermore, the Rangers have now won six consecutive games.

After the game, the Rangers were undoubtedly happy about the victory, but they were also breathing a sigh of relief after getting a positive injury report on star outfielder Adolis Garcia.

The following update comes from the Rotowire fantasy baseball portal:

Garcia is considered day-to-day after X-rays on his forearm came back negative, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

ANALYSIS
Garcia had to be removed from Wednesday's win over the Rays in the eighth inning after being struck by a Kevin Kelly pitch in the forearm, but he's managed to avoid a serious injury. The Rangers are off Thursday, so Garcia should have a shot to be ready Friday versus the Dodgers.

That's huge news for a Texas team that boasts one of the best offenses in baseball. Garcia made the All-Star team earlier this month and is hitting .259 with 24 homers and 80 RBI. He's also stolen six bases and posted an OPS of .841.

He's in his fifth year in the big leagues with the Cardinals and Rangers and is a lifetime .247 hitter with 82 homers and 272 RBI.

At the time of this posting, the Rangers lead the American League West by 4.5 games over the Houston Astros.
