What the final days are like before the start of the new season

"Just trying to make sure you look at your checklist and go over some special situations we haven't done and then continue to try to work on your fundamentals and your base of your offense and defense and try to be as on top of things as you can."

Having the near full week off before the first game

"I don't know if we needed to play eight games but I'd like if we had an extra week and played another game. But again, everybody has the same schedule, so it's fair. This is the time of year where even today we scrimmaged, had refs here so you could do a lot of contact and do a lot better."

10 years as an NBA head coach

"I love my job. I don't take the NBA for granted. I feel blessed I'm able to do it. I tell people all the time and they don't really believe this, I'm really one of the happiest people I know. I do have a job that I enjoy. I don't ever reflect or anything like that."

If it's too early to tell if Theo Maledon and Bryce McGowens will be available on opening night

"Yeah, I think so. Theo did a lot more today, but Bryce was not able to."
